Thank you for your interest in this guest blogging opportunity on the Disabled Parenting Project’s (DPP) blog. We are very excited to offer your expertise to our readers!
Please follow these guidelines to help us maintain the style and quality of our blog.
Length
Our guest blogger posts typically range from 500 to 1,000 words. Please also feel free to include a short bio and a photograph.
Content
The DPP team may suggest a blog topic for your consideration, but we are flexible and open to your ideas, too. Please note we cannot post any content containing the following:
- Vulgar or abusive language or discrimination (hate speech) based on race, sex, gender, religion, national origin, age or disability
- Endorsements of religious beliefs/practices or political parties, candidates or groups
Accessibility
We encourage you to include images and/or videos. To ensure accessibility, please include a description with all photos. In addition, videos must include audio description (please verbally explain exactly what you are doing). We prefer videos already be captioned but if not possible, we may consider captioning ourselves before posting. We will only post videos that are captioned.
When writing your guest blog, we recommend that you write your post with simple words (“plain language”), so that it can be easily understood by everyone.
The Editing Process
Please send your guest blog at least three days prior to the proposed blog post date. Our team may edit your content before posting in on the blog.
Comment Approval Policy
DPP moderates all comments on its blog and will post both negative and positive feedback from its visitors, as long as those comments do not violate our Terms of Service.
In the event that an extremely negative comment is received, DPP will wait one full business day to post the comment and will alert the guest blogger, so he or she can prepare a response. Due to our Privacy Policy, we cannot release a commenter’s contact information.
Outreach
DPP highlights posts from its guest bloggers on Twitter and Facebook and sends guest blog alerts to its listserv occasionally.
