Disabled Parenting Project Message Boards › Playpen for parent in wheelchair
Hello all. I am a father of six MO twins, and I am a manual wheelchair user due to a severe TBI. My daughters are out growing their infant swings, and are about ready to transition into a playpen/pack-n-play, and my wife and I are looking for something that will work best for me to get them in and out safely, and that will be good for my girls to roll around in.
Could anyone make suggestions on a device that might work, and where I could find one?
Thank you for your help!
Hi Lallipop, I’m a t6-t8 paraplegic and use a Graco Pack N Play for my 21 month old son. When my son was a lot smaller, I used the bassinet part of the Pack N Play. When he outgrew it, I put two-three mattress down in the bottom on the Pack N Play, so I could reach him. Best wishes, Jessica- Mom2TJR
I am looking for the same thing! I need a safe playing area where I can put my 6 month baby. A Pack N Play won’t work for me – I can’t lean over and pick her up from in there. I’ve been trying to look online for some ideas and can’t find much. I found this:
But I can’t figure out what material they’ve used – netting? It looks a bit complicated. I’d love any ideas people have – pictures would be so helpful!
